Variegated chequerboard panel
Variegated chequerboard panel, made from Rhodesian Teak, which is a high quality timber with lots of character. Also known as the 'king of woods', it is a beautiful reddish-brown. The variegation comes from the contrasting pale sapwood which is of equal hardness as the heartwood. In addition there are hues of plum, brown and grey making it a most appealing floor. Rhodesian Teak originates from East and Southern Africa and you can learn more about this species  on our wood species web-page. This is a classic 1970s panel made of variegated Rhodesian Teak. The panels come in squares with paper backing, ready to lay.
  • These are sold in panels which are 18" square (about 450 mm square).

We sell in multiples of 1 sq m above the minimum purchase of 5 sq m – if you need a smaller quantity please contact the office directly. In addition, you may need to send us an original block that we are matching. Please be ready to do this as it helps a lot with identification.

Where from?

These chequerboard panels are unused, having been purchased from some old building suppliers in North Essex.

If you just want to do an infill area, we will try to match the size and species for you before you buy so that you are sure of the wood type.

In order to use this service, we will ask for good photos in focus to be emailed with all three dimensions of the parquet block (L-W-D) and your full contact details please. In addition, you may need to send us an original block that we are matching. Please be ready to do this as it helps a lot with identification and we prefer to use our expertise than you guessing!

Condition

This is an unused variegated chequerboard panel in Rhodesian Teak. Before buying we recommend you request a sample  so you know what to expect. Please add in the notes section that it is the chequerboard panel that you are interested in.

Ordering

Please allow 10% extra on your room area to cover wastage in the pattern. Don’t forget to advise us of a contact telephone number when you buy your parquet as well as your preferred date for receiving the pallet as someone will need to be there to sign for it.

Delivery

We can normally process your order within 6-8 working days and the delivery takes another 2-3 days depending on where you live. In general you would be able to receive your block within a fortnight. If you need your order sooner then please let us know and we will do our best to help.
